The role of the Ministry of Foreign Affair and the National Community Abroad

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad plays an important role in following-up the implementation of Security Council resolutions at national level, particularly those concerning sanctions regimes.

Within this framework, a representative of the Ministry presides over the Targeted Sanctions Committee, and its Secretariat is established within the Ministry. In this capacity, it ensures coordination between the Committee and the competent Algerian authorities, for the implementation of the measures imposed by the United Nations Security Council sanctions regimes, and forwards annual reports to the Chairmen of the Security Council Sanctions Committees, as well as to the groups of experts of the said committees, at their request.
